Stad

De stad bruist vandaag; duizenden tienduizenden, honderduizenden lopen hier vandaag rond. Ik zit binnen, eet brood met verse aardbeien en verbaas me over de roze boom in de binnentuin. En ik luister naar de nieuwe plaat van Josh Ritter, So runs the world away. (op de luisterpaal)
Wat een mooie plaat. Hier op youtube een voorproefje van een prachtig nummer, The Curse, Volgende week staat hij in een uitverkocht Bitterzoet. Wat een geluksvogels, zij die kaarten hebben! En ik, ik ga heel misschien mijn huis nog uit, maar misschien ook niet. De rust en stilte bevallen me.

Eindelijk

Eindelijk weer 'ns getekend. En dan verleer je het ook nog 'ns, dat tekenen. Ik hoop dit weekend een beetje tijd te hebben om lekker te zitten, te tekenen, nieuw werk te maken. Voorlopig deze grutto met een piepklein visje.

Movie

My creative uncle made be a birthday movie. He used my illustrations, and it's about what I do these days; According to him thats 'drawing flowers and animals '.(personally I could have done without the cat eating the giraffe... But I love the music and its nice to see this imaginative converstation between two figures from my illustration!

Donkey

I have written before about donkeys and how much I like them. This weekend I stumbled upon this old picture (december 1961). Isnt it a lovely picture? I read something about the donkey being the mascotte of this army regiment. But I rather just imagine things: They have found this poor little donkey somewhere and are making sure he's safe. Or the donkey lost his last two legs. Luckily he has little wheels so he still able to move. But in these wheat-fields that is really heavy so the soldiers take turns carrying him.

What a weekend! I loved the summer noises, all these little things you take notice off because the temperature slows you down, makes you sit, read, and listen. I thought our cold but sunny winter was amazing, but this weekend I realized how much I love the warm weather and all these little things that come with living life with open windows and open shoes.
