Pinguin

Creativity is a mysterious thing. For me at least. It involves a lot practice and hard work. You need to be strict and critical towards your work, but it is also a matter of letting go, feeling free in your work. Well at least for me. I can't recall making this drawing but assume I spend the evening drinking tea and coffee, listening to good music, tearing up magazines and just fiddled around a bit. For me a very important face to make more precise drawings.
And the pinguin made me think of the lonely pinguin who took a wrong turn and ended up in New Zealand.

Old

Last weekend, when I was working in the garden I found this old piece from a pot or a some other kind of crockery. It made me smile: over hundred years ago some one else loved drawing leaves and plants too. A very nice lost and found.

Have a lovely weekend!

Daily newspaper cut out session

Two years ago I started using old newspapers to make little illustrations. I loved recycling these old images and turn them in something new. My boss likes it too, and for a while we had several designers and editors from our newspaper making a ' Krant van Gisteren' (Yesterday's newspaper)

And now their back! This is the one I made for todays newspaper, with yesterdays newspaper.
