Stad

Movie

My creative uncle made be a birthday movie. He used my illustrations, and it's about what I do these days; According to him thats 'drawing flowers and animals '.(personally I could have done without the cat eating the giraffe... But I love the music and its nice to see this imaginative converstation between two figures from my illustration!

Donkey

I have written before about donkeys and how much I like them. This weekend I stumbled upon this old picture (december 1961). Isnt it a lovely picture? I read something about the donkey being the mascotte of this army regiment. But I rather just imagine things: They have found this poor little donkey somewhere and are making sure he's safe. Or the donkey lost his last two legs. Luckily he has little wheels so he still able to move. But in these wheat-fields that is really heavy so the soldiers take turns carrying him.

Wrapping paper

What a weekend! I loved the summer noises, all these little things you take notice off because the temperature slows you down, makes you sit, read, and listen. I thought our cold but sunny winter was amazing, but this weekend I realized how much I love the warm weather and all these little things that come with living life with open windows and open shoes.

Illustratie

An illustration about Voluntary-work

Woohoo

9 followers! And i made three more plates. They have a slighty different colour than the other ones and i've made one new design. On the picture only two plates: the flamingo and the shrimp he's about to eat, and a new giraffe plate. (the tree is a little different)
Comments are very welcome, I'de like to know what you guys think. On the other hand I don't like marketing tricks like questionaires, or phonecalls etc. So don't commment of you don't want to.
Oooh how I wish I could call in a sicky and lock myself up in the screenprint studio. Buy boxes and poststamps, have my webshop up and running. But i will do it the indonesian way: slowly slowly (plan plan) be patient, make baby-steps but make the steps well and focused. Other wise i might fall flat on my face (and break all my crockery!)

Moving around

Finding a decent living space in Amsterdam is, like in many other big cities, very difficult. I've moved around a lot, so did most of my friends. We all have interesting stories to tell about crazy neighbours, weedgardens, illegal subletting, and in my case: house getting on fire.
The local Amsterdam paper has an article every week about famous amsterdam inhabitants and their housing-history. They tell about where they used to live in amsterdam, under wich conditions and how long. And there is map of amsterdam that shows their movements around this city. I don't think they will ever ask me for this article but it did inspire me to make my own housing-history on a map. I do love Amsterdam-east, and Im happy in this house. Just a few blocks away from my all time favorite house. I lost it after a year and a half but it was the first house that I totally loved. It was 3.30 meters thirty high and i had my garden. The house got me through tough times and gave me peace and quiet in hectic times.

Grafische werkplaats

Wauw!

Basement

Our basement was always humid, dark en scary. It still is actually. But this basement website really cheered me up. Allthough I was a pretty good mood already, it just got better with every artist I saw: Andrew Bird, Laura Marling. And this woman, never heard of her before. Zee Avi. Have a nice easter weekend.

Ok one more. Andrew Bird.

Flamingo

I have to get to the train, get to work, only another 8 hours, and then the start of a long long weekend. Im going to draw, make screenprints. And finish a little cd-booklet Im working on. Can't wait for the weekend. Oh yes and maybe I will paint some easter eggs.
