I use old pictures from old magazines in my work a lot. It's a bit like treasure-hunting. Im always looking for old magazines, but most of the time I stumble upon them by accident. Once found I spent hours behind the scanners to scan all the pictures I like. After that those pictures are quietly and patiently waiting until i choose them to use in one of my illustrations. Most of my magazines are from the sixties and the early seventies, but my mom found me an older magazine. It is called Illustration and it is from 30 janvier 1937. From before the second world war! The advertisements, the typography, the infographics. It is all so nice to look at, and in many ways inspirational for my work today.
