Drawing

Inspired by many things: beautiful fonts, by the blue and grey clouds today. Inspired by the lovely kids that went for a short ride on the Pony's Vonneke and Leo. One of our most famous soccer-players (Johan Cruijf) has his own foundation. The pony's and me were part of a big event for young disabled sporters. Some of the kids cheered from hapiness, other were very quiet but still had a big big smile. And inspired by a Liz Phair song. Have a lovely day.

Im not sure if you we really have Indian Summers in the Netherlands, cause I don't exactly know what the description of an Indian Summer is, but the weather sure is wonderful. Today I made a lovely ride with a kind, mischievous horse called King. And the weekend I spent with my rather large family in a big house in the woods. I played ping-pong with my cousins ('We rather play your sister, she is much better than you, but she's not available for ping-pong right now so yoiu will do.' Ok thanks guys...), and I gazed at the latest addition to our family, a two week old baby called Jonas Theo. The theme of our weekend was skiing/mountains. We ate raclette, the windows were covered in fake-snow and we even had a breathtaking mountain view from our windows. One of my aunts loves secondhand shopping as much as I do. Their whole house is filled with vintage design. All found in thriftstores or saved from dumpsters. It was my aunt who found this book: A childern book from Alain Grée. Beautiful, precise drawings with colors that resemble the colors in my own drawings. What an inspiration! Another Lost and Found treasure that made my day. My day? My whole weekend!

It is rare these days, me finding new music i like. That has nothing to do with the new music but with me getting older. Apparantly when you get older you listen less to new music but you stick to the older stuff you already know. I fit those statistics. So im thrilled: I'VE FOUND SOMETHING NEW! He is called Weikie, he sounds like Tracy Chapman and I hope he will come to Amsterdam soon but his tour schedule takes him many places but not Amsterdam. This is his website, some video's and you can listen to his album as well.

Lost & Found

I love secondhand. And im always stunned with the beautiful things I find on the streets. I met a man from Canada years ago while i was in Guatemala and he told me that you should never put lots of effort in buying things. If you wait patiently things come to you when you need them, he said. This man was a big stoner, a real travellers hippie so I never took him to seriously. But his advice still lingers in my head cause he might be right. I have found a beenie on the street just when I needed one, I found white trousers in the secondhand store just when I needed one and last week I found an amazing pile of National Geographics. And this gorgeous blanket! I drove pas and from the corner of the eye i noticed the colours. It might be from the Guatamala region. Wonderful. I consider myself a real lucky bastard if things like this happen to me. Have a wonderful sunday!
